Police arrest man for possession of suspected stolen copper cables

Mochudi police have arrested a 65-year-old man for possession of suspected stolen copper cables.
According to a press release from Botswana Police Service, the suspect, who is a director of a metal scrap yard in Pilane, was arrested after failing to account for copper cables valued over P10 000 and weighing over 200kg.
It is suspected that the cables are the property of the Botswana Telecommunications Corporation Limited.
Furthermore, the release states that the suspect is likely to be charged for possession of stolen property. Police investigations are still ongoing. ENDS
