Wanderers cautious despite advantage

With an eye on what happened recently between Barcelona and Liverpool during the UEFA Champions League, Morupule Wanderers coach, Boyo 'Oris' will go into this weekend’s second leg promotional play-offs against Jwaneng Fighters very cautions.
This is despite the fact that they carry a healthy looking 2-0 away lead. “In football, you cannot say it’s over until the final whistle. We all know what happened recently on the international stage, and we do not want to be victims as well,” he said in reference of the UEFA Champions League game in which Barcelona carried a healthy 3-0 led from the first leg, only to succumb 4-0 on aggregate.
Radipotsane promised that they would, therefore, go into the game on a clean slate, playing as if the game was still 0-0, but conceded, however, that his boys were under a bit of pressure at the possibility of Fighters coming back into the game.
“We have engaged some counsellors to help the players psychologically, and another good thing is that I have a lot of experienced players in my team who can help the young ones,” he said.
Wanderers have the likes of Tebogo 'Toy' Moroka, Kelepile 'Wire' Terata, Gosaitse Manuel, Master Masitara, Katlego Mpoeleng and Kgololo Kgogobi among its experienced lot.
Radipotsane also indicated that preparations for the second leg had been as intense as they had been for the first leg and that he expected the game to be tricky as both teams had a chance to assess each other and aware of how each play, which now calls for a change in tactics.
He said for his part he would use more youngsters to add up more speed. “In the first leg I relied more on experience, but for the second leg, I will add a bit of speed and use most of my young players. I did not use them in the first leg because I wanted them to observe,” he said.
Radipotsane also indicated that the fact that he coached some of Jwaneng Fighters players at some stage in his career might work well for him, but was still cautions that the game might go either way.
“It is still a very dangerous game and no one should make the mistake of thinking that we have one foot in, we will fight on and our main objective is to be in the premiership next season,” he said.
Radipotsane also implored supporters in the whole of Tswapong to throng the game in large numbers as they usually do.
“This is their team and they know what to do. They usually come in large numbers and even in the first leg they came to support us, and since this is our home game, we expect nothing less.
Meanwhile attempts to contact Jwaneng Fighters coach and public relations officer proved futile as they could not be reached. BOPA Okaile Lo(16/5/2019)
