Police investigate murders suicide

 Police in Maun are investigating two cases in which two women were murdered by their lovers in separate incidents.

In one incident, Maun Police Station Commander, Superintendent Motlhaba Ramaabya said a 22-year-old woman of Disana ward was stabbed to death with a sharp object on May 2 by her 26 year-old boyfriend who committed suicide afterwads. 

The bodies await post mortem at Letsholathebe Memorial Hospital in Maun.

In another incident, Superintendent Ramaabya said Maun Police were searching for a 27-year-old man of Thito ward suspected to have killed his 23-year-old girlfriend from the same ward.

He said the suspect used a sharp object to kill the deceased. 

Meanwhile, Supt Ramaabya appealed to residents to seek professional help when faced with challenges in their relationships instead of resorting to violence.

In another incident, he said the police were searching for a man who allegedly raped his 20-year-old cousin at Botshabelo ward on May 2.

Still in Maun, Supt Ramaabya said the police were investigating a case in which a businessman lost cash amounting to P48 000 mysteriously on May 2.

He said the businessman cashed the money from Stanbic Bank in Maun and proceeded to a workshop, but found nothing when he arrived, hence suspect the money was stolen.

Superintendent Ramaabya advised residents not to do errands when carrying huge amounts of cash. ENDS
