Transformation of Botswana economy necessary

Transformation of Botswana economy is necessary, President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi said this during the launch of the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP)manifesto today(April 27). "This transformation will be achieved by continously reforming our policies and strategies, by making use of streamlining processes, undertaking skills audits, improving on service delivery and increasing our competitiveness and productivity as a nation". He said
The president further said for economic growth and diversification to happen there should be an investment in productive export focused activities which would generate jobs, new sources of export earnings and tax revenues.
He also said transformation of this country from an upper middle income to high income status is characterised by high levels of productivity, competitiveness and sustainable jobs and achieving a knowledge based economy by 2036.The President also added that under BDP administration Botswana will be placed on a transformational course from an upper middle income to a high income country in which Batswana will have a primary share.
He also said the BDP manifesto calls all Batswana to free their energies to make products that could also market on international level.
" I promise you that our economy will be transformed, it's performance deepened and diversified to provide decent jobs" he added.
Through this manifesto he said that the future would be built, which would ensure that every Motswana enjoys a dignified life. ENDS
