There were no serious offences recorded in Kgatleng over Easter holidays, except for a few minor ones and one bus accident.
Speaking in an interview, Officer Commanding No.12 District Senior Superintendent Kevin Mookodi said they recorded one bus accident that happened at Pilane landfill on Good Friday, where it appears that the bus driver lost control of the bus after trying to make a sharp turn.
“Fortunately there were no serious injuries to passengers and only a few people sustained minor injuries,” he said, adding that the bus driver had made a sharp turn due to a passenger who had indicated that they were getting off at Pilane.
He further said they also recorded three house break-ins on Monday, in two of the incidents, the house owners had left the houses unattended and one happened while the owner was sleeping in the house.
“One owner had gone to Gaborone and the other was in Moria,, South Africa for a church Easter service” he said.
Superintendent Mookodi cautioned people who drank alcohol in un-designated areas to refrain from doing so, indicating that they came across many such incidents over the holidays.
“But all in all it was a safe Easter holiday and I would like to applaud Batswana for having exercised caution and being responsible citizens,” he said. ENDS
