Police investigate suicide incident

Body of a Zimbabwean national who was a herdboy at Kweneng settlement in Kweneng District was on April 15 retrieved from a burnt structure following a suspected suicide mission.
The 33-year-old deceased, according to Molepolole station commander, Superintendent Lebani Burns the deceased might have committed suicide while awaiting to appear before Mochudi magistrate, Mr Onneile Ntwayapelo on April 16.
He said they suspected the deceased emptied a gas cylinder sending the house into flames.
The lifeless remains, he said, were also found with a wire around his neck, a clear indication of suicide.
He was scheduled to appear for judgement over stealing eight goats at Ratshweu cattle post in Kgatleng District.
He allegedly disclosed his intention a night before the incident to a friend Banyana Molefe.
“He told me that I am seeing him for the last time,” said Molefhe
The deceased’s girlfriend, Ms Odirileng Taka, said the deceased furious when she visited him.
“He appeared disturbed when I checked him at around 6:00am in the fateful day before he ordered me to leave saying I was wasting his time” confirmed Ms Taka.
Ms Taka said she was disturbed by the victim’s utterances and made an attempt to rush to a police post in Kweneng settlement from the nearby cattle post, but to her dismay, she heard a loud bang from the direction where she left him. ENDS
