Man dies after falling from moving van

A man died at Sekgoma Memorial Hospital in Serowe after falling from a moving van in the village at midnight of Sunday March 31.
It is assumed that the 24-year-old Serowe man was sitting at the back of a van at the time of the accident.
In an interview, Serowe Police Station commander, Superintendent Molefe Molefe, the man was taken to Sekgoma Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested but later released.
Supt Molefe said there was a lot of excitement in Serowe that weekend with many activities taking place, which included the FA Cup match between Township Rollers and Santa Greens as well as weddings.
He said some failed to obey road signs and drunken driving was at its peak, as it was also month end.
In another incident, an unknown middle-aged man was found lying dead on the road at Paje, 10 kilometres north of Serowe.
Police suspect the man was knocked down by a vehicle near the club and the Botswana Defence Force camp.
Supt Molefe said police were seeking eye witnesses who may help in identifying both the dead man and the vehicle that hit him. Ends
