Poverty workshop is an eye opener
12 Aug 2013
One of the beneficiaries of the poverty eradication workshop held in Damochujenaa recently says the business training component of the workshop is a good idea as they are to embark in their own businesses.
Ms Gabailane Simon of Lerala hailed the workshop as a well thought idea, pointing out that it gave beneficiaries a chance to ask questions and be taught on how to run a business successfully. She said during the proceedings they were also drilled on the importance of knowing why they wanted to start a business and how they could manage it.
Networking was also emphasised as a good component in business. Ms Simon said they were also exposed to different things such as marketing skills, pricing and labeling.
She said this was a good thing because one should be able to know how to advertise the products so that potential customers from far could know about the product, adding that through the adverts one should clearly state where the business was located for easy access.
Ms Simon said she also learnt about the importance of pricing because through it one should be able to determine the cost of running business. She pointed out that she would get into her envisioned business of sowing with all the ammunition she needed to sustain and maintain it. Ends
