Police hunt for rapist

Maun police have embarked on a massive search for a suspect in a rape incident, which took place at Boseja Ward on Sunday.
Maun station commander, Superintendent Motlhaba Ramaabya said the suspect, who was allegedly masked at the time, forced entry into the 27-year-old woman’s locked house, while she was sleeping.
The suspect, he said ran away and the victim reported the matter to the police.
Superintendent Ramaabya said rape incidents were worrying in his policing area.
However, he promised that the police would do all in their power to ensure the perpetrators were arrested.
Still in Maun, the police and the community have embarked on a search for a missing person.
The 43-year-old man of Boronyane Ward, who is reported to be not mentally fit, went missing while on a mission to look for donkeys.
Superintendent Ramaabya said the missing person was last seen on Sunday.
He said the family reported the matter the same day, after their efforts to trace his footsteps were unsuccessful.
Superintendent Ramaabya also revealed that they were investigating the death of a 24-year-old man, who was found hanging on the rafters on his house over the weekend at Moeti ward.
He said the deceased’s body was lying at Letsholathebe Memorial Hospital awaiting post mortem, while investigations continue.
It was reported that the deceased did not leave any message.
He appealed to the public to seek assistance from relevant authorities whenever they had challenges. ENDS
