Sejelo police are investigating a case in which a 52-year-old man was found dead at his workplace on January 28 in Kanye.
Speaking in an interview, Station Commander Superintendent Mogomotsi Matlapeng said the deceased, who worked as a security guard, was found lying by his workmate who was patrolling the premises during his shift at 5:30 am.
Supt Matlapeng stated that his colleague then called the wife of the deceased before reporting the matter to the police who took him to Seventh Day Adventist Hospital where he was certified dead.
In another case, Supt Matlapeng said a 38-year-old man was attacked by three perpetrators using what appeared to be guns at his house in Kanye, and that they stole a white Toyota bakkie on January 29.
He said the victim was sleeping when the three men woke him up, tied him and demanded his car keys.
The incident, he stated, occurred around 2am and was reported to them at 2:30am, adding that the victim did not sustain any serious injuries.
Supt Matlapeng said police investigations were still ongoing on the two cases, and that no arrest has been made yet.
He advised Batswana to use steering wheel locks and to install security devices and tracking devices so as to easily locate their vehicles when stolen, and to make it difficult for culprits to easily get away with their property. ENDS
