Sejelo police investigate burglary rape incidents

Sejelo Police are investigating a burglary incident which occurred early hours of Wednesday at Lodubeng ward in Kanye around 3am, where three man broke into a 39-year- old woman’s house wearing balaclavas.

Speaking in an interview with BOPA, Supt Mogomotsi Matlapeng said the three culprits then demanded money from the victim who gave them her hand bag containing about P20 000. The perpetrators are also said to have stolen the victim’s Toyota Hilux. Meanwhile, Supt Matlapeng revealed that they were also investigating an incident in which a 25-year-old woman with hearing impairment was allegedly raped by an unknown man yesterday around 3pm in the afternoon.

He said they received a report from a 66-year-old father to the victim that the incident occurred yesterday at Sethugetsane ward in Kanye.  

He said the father to the victim told the police that he was bathing when he heard unusual sound from her deaf daughter’s room, which led him to suspect that she might be in danger.

“When I went to check on my daughter, I saw a tall man running away from the house and I became suspicious that the man had been raping my daughter,” he said.

Supt Matlapeng pleads with members of the community to help them with any information that could lead to the arrest of  the suspect. Ends
