Road accident claims six lives

Police in Kasane are investigating an incident in which six people died after a mini bus they were traveling in was involved in a road accident along Kasane-Nata road on December 29.
In an interview, Kasane district traffic officer, Superintendent Semakaleng Matlhake, said the mini bus, which was carrying a total of 13 people hit a horse and trailer truck from behind about 40 kilometers from Pandamatenga.
Supt Matlhake said of the six who died, two were women and four men. He said the accident was reported at around seven in the morning.
He said the police found the mini bus burnt to ashes with the deceased trapped inside while seven others including the driver survived. They were three men and four women.
Supt Matlhake said the age of all the occupants of the mini bus ranged between 20 and 34.
He said the mini bus was from Gaborone going to Victorial Falls for a festival. Police investigations continue. Ends
