Palapye police are investigating a case in which a four-year-old girl was raped at Khurumela ward in Palapye. 

Speaking in an interview Palapye station commander Superintendent Waboraro Ramaja said  that the matter was reported to the police on November 24 after the child’s parents found out that their daughter had been raped while playing with friends in the neighbourhood. 

Superintendent Ramaja says the police arrested an 18-year- old man of Khurumela ward to help them with investigations on the matter. 

He raised concern over escalating cases of rape involving minors, urging parents to take care of their children. 

He also urged them to intensify educating their children about sexual abuse and encourage children to report any form of abuse to their parents. 

Police investigations on the matter are still ongoing. ENDS
