Two accused persons in the rape and murder of a Jwaneng woman found themselves back in custody after failing to satisfy bail conditions.
Boemo Baaitse and Pako Segogwane, who are accused alongside Thuto Sugwasugwane and Tshepo Molwalefe, failed to pay the P3 000 cash bail resulting in Jwaneng.
Magistrate Mr Odirile Mokgatle extending their remand.
Baaitse and Segogwane pleaded with the court to change bail their conditions because they could not find bail money while remanded in custody.
However, Mr Mokgatle said the cash bail imposed was reasonable and that he could not vary it. He added that the High Court could have asked for P5 000 cash bail for such matters.
The remand was extended to October 25, with the third and fourth accused persons excused from attending the case management conference. However, all the four accused persons are scheduled for mention on November 8.
In a different matter before the same court, a plea was reserved in a murder case involving two men of Keng.

The case is set for mention on January 15 next year on which date committal documents are expected to be ready for the case to be committed to the High Court. ENDS
