Court grants murder accused Rebonamang bail

A young lady in Mmopane who was early this year accused of the murdering her relative has been granted bail and sent back home in Letlhakane in Boteti sub-district.
Gaborone Village Magistrate Mr Ike Raphel granted Kgomotso Rebonamang a conditional bail which among others required her to bond herself with P1000 and produce two sureties who also bonded themselves with the same amount.
She will report every fortnight at Letlhakane Police Station.
In the meantime prosecutor in the case inspector Galekhuti Mashumba of Sir Seretse Khama Airport Police Station (SSKA) has confirmed that the 20-year-old has been taken back home by officers from Social and Community Development office as she falls under their ambit because of her background.
They together with her parents are to ensure that she complies with the court order.
Rebonamang allegedly stabbed to death her lady cousin at Morake ward in Mmopane on February 13, 2018 after the two had a misunderstanding following a drinking spree.
Investigations in the matter are at advanced stage and she will come for mention again on December 03, 2018, where the case might be committed to the High Court.
In another matter an accused in the P3.9 million embezzlement case, Bheki Nkomazana will return to court again on September 19, 2018 for mention.
He recently engaged attorney Kgosietsile Ngakaagae and subsequently rescinded his earlier plea of guilty while his co-accused will appear on September 25, 2018.
The state was represented by Mr Keorapele Sambere from Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) who was holding for Ms Seeletso Ookeditse.
In his submission Mr Sambere requested the court to extend remand warrant of the accused to which the court agreed. Ends
