Police arrest duo for theft

Police in Bobonong have arrested two brothers in connection with the theft of two motor vehicles, bar breaking and theft, theft common and stealing a radio from a public transport bus.
In an interview, Assistant Superintendent Sitale Phuthego said the duo aged 22 and 25 originated from Malatsi Ward in Sefhophe.
Superintendent Phuthego said the suspected men were alleged to have gone on a rampage on the night of August 29 stealing two Toyota Hilux vehicles, braking into an Ok Bar where they stole music instruments, alcohol and broke into a snooker and stole over P900.
He said on the same night, the suspects were alleged to have stolen music speakers and accessories from a church and also broke into a bus where they stole a car radio.
Supt Phuthego said the stolen items were recovered while one vehicle was found dumped near Engen Filling Station and the other in Sefhophe where the two were arrested after they tracked them with the help of the community.
He said investigations were ongoing and upon completion they would appear before Bobonong Magistrate’s Court to face a charge of theft common, bar breaking and theft of a motor vehicle. ENDS
