Masisi mourns Annan

President Mokgweetsi Masisi has joined the world in mourning former UN Secretary General Mr Kofi Annan who died August 18.
President Masisi on August 22 signed the book of condolences in remembrance of the late former secretary general.
“In Kofi Annan the world has lost a giant, Africa has lost a son and Botswana has lost a dear father, brother and friend.
The people of Ghana contributed an enigmatic and eloquent peace maker and astute administrator.
Our parting message is one of thanks and gracious celebration of a life well lived and earned,” says the President in his message.
The message further extends condolences to the UN as well as the Annan family.
The 80-year-old Ghanaian diplomat served as the seventh UN secretary general from January 1997 to December 2006, he was also the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2001. ENDS
