Masisi debut SADC summit

President Mokgweetsi Masisi is expected to give his maiden speech at the 38th SADC summit slated for Windhoek, Namibia on August 17.
The President, together with a contingent of ministers and government top brass, is scheduled to arrive in Windhoek on August 16.
Other SADC heads of state anticipated to speak for the first time since assuming state power in their respective countries include President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa,
President Joao Manuel Goncalves of Angola, President Dr John Pombe Magufuli of United Republic of Tanzania and President Emmerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe.
A welcome address by incoming SADC chairperson and President of Namibia Dr Hage Geingob, who is also the host of the meeting, will kickstart the summit.
The summit, to be held under the theme; Promoting Infrastructure Development and Youth Empowerment for Sustainable Development, closes on August 18 with a media briefing by SADC chairperson and his ministers. ENDS
