Minister of International Affairs and Cooperation has hailed the departing Zimbabwe Ambassador, Mr Thomas Mandigora for helping to strengthen the friendship and cooperation that exist between the two neighbouring countries.
“Thank you for your tireless efforts to bring friendship and peace between Botswana and Zimbabwe. We all know that Zimbabwe and Botswana’s relationship starts from 1983 and in that time, 12 years you were at the helm of this relationship,” Dr Unity Dow said on July 30 at a farewell luncheon held in honour of Mr Mandigora.
Dr Dow said the two countries concluded several agreements on education, agriculture, tourism, and border issues during Mr Mandigora term in office.
The Zimbabwe envoy leaves Botswana after a lengthy term of 12 years.
On the other hand, Mr Mandigora praised the cordial relationship between the two countries.
He said the political culture of tolerance has driven socio-economic development in Botswana.
“Botswana is indeed a shining example of Africa in terms of development, rule of law and good governance. Other African countries can draw lessons from Botswana’s successes in rule of law and good governance,” he said. ENDS
