BSB donates computers to Sebina Primary School

Botswana Savings Bank (BSB) has donated a set of four computers and a printer to Sebina Primary School.

Speaking at the donation handover ceremony recently, BSB chief executive officer, Mr Nixon Marumolao said BSB was a bank that provided swift banking and whose mandate aimed to mobilise savings and financial inclusion across Botswana, through the provision of affordable financial solutions.

He said as a bank, they intended to contribute to the diversified human resource development and advancement in knowledge, hence the importance of such institutions as Sebina primary.

He said BSB donation aimed to make an impactful and positive difference to Sebina pupils and staff.

He said the donation would act as a key strategy linked to improving learning outcomes and standard of living.

Commending BSB for their gesture, Assistant Minister of Tertiary Education, Research, Science and Technology, Mr Fidelis Molao, also Member of Parliament for Shashe West said the education system was faced with challenges of resources.

Mr Molao said with stakeholders’ help, they could bridge the gap, adding that it was imperative for more stakeholders to come on board and help schools to improve the worrying results seen across the country.

Appreciating the BSB efforts, a Sebina Primary School pupil, Legae Pelaelo said the donation would help them learn how to use computers as not all his peers were not accorded such an opportunity.

He said as he would be sitting for the Primary School Leaving Examination at the end of the year, he was excited that he would have grasped the basics of a computer before going to a junior secondary school.

He also said he was going to make use of the computers to prepare his time table for final exam preparations.

In addition, a Standard Five pupil, Katlego Makhosonke said what BSB had done for them was remarkable and unforgettable.

She said with the availability of such equipment as printers, they would have their notes and tests set well on time, thus giving them the chance to prepare for every test. ENDS
