The women’s league of Motheo wa Keresete Church known as Manyano donated food hampers and toiletries of over P50 000 to 20 families in Tatising on July 21.

In an interview with Manyano secretary general, Ms Neo Gopolang explained that the 20 recipients of the hampers included people living with disabilities, the needy and the elderly members of Tatisiding.

Ms Gopolang further explained that the league had hosted a number of fundraisers across the country as well as contributions made by church members in order to come up with funds to buy the hampers.

Speaking at the official handing over of the hampers, Kgosi Simon Nkgageng of Tatisiding applauded the women’s league for  helping the less fortunate members of his community.

He noted that it was impressive to see local churches doing what the president of the nation preaches on a regular basis.

Kgosi Nkgageng further observed that churches have great leadership and in turn they tend to have a positive impact on society.

For his part councillor for Tatisiding West Mr Dumani Kelepi noted that the impact of women in the society is very visible and highly appreciated as they always lead by example, adding that even in the political arena women’s league play an important part. ENDS
