Public servants advised to be proactive - Tsogwane
19 Jul 2018
Vice President Slumber Tsogwane has appealed to public servants in the Boteti area to be proactive and commit to service delivery.
Mr Tsogwane, also MP for Boteti West, said when addressing kgotla meetings at Xere, Rakops and Mmadikola in his constituency on July 18, that some government employees had the habit of giving customers empty promises
He said genuine concerns raised by the community where possible must be addressed speedily.
Mr Tsogwane said government was committed to improved service delivery and therefore it was their responsibility to fulfill that objective.
The vice president appealed to management of different government and council departments to ensure that their subordinates were well informed about the mandate of their sections saying it would be unfortunate for an officer to mislead the public with wrong information.
Sharing President Mokgweetsi Masisi’s road map, Mr Tsogwane said the primary focus was on public servants to commit, be dedicated and focused on service delivery.
Mr Tsogwane appealed to public officers to advise accordingly towards improved and quality service.
He said as recipients of government services members of the public would be consulted so that any changes that were likely to be made would be at par with their interests.
Some procedures even though necessary, he said, delayed service delivery and ultimately the development process. ENDS
