19 Jul 2018
A press release from Princess Marina Hospital has dismissed as untrue reports of 32 babies dying due to power cuts.
The release further says the hospital has standby generators which automatically start when there is power outage.
“Even though there were power interruptions, no problems were encountered with incubators at Neonatal Unit where very sick and premature babies are admitted.”
It further says over the long weekend, the Neonatal Unit admitted 32 babies, of whom three passed on due to various illnesses and all three cases were very sick babies who were referred from other facilities. ENDS
