Morupisi shares Masisi vision

Permanent Secretary to the President’s meeting with public officers within Moshupa Sub-district where he put in plain words President Mokgweetsi Masisi road map, gives credence to the old time truth that there is nothing new under the sun.

It is spelt out in the Bible that people without a vision perish and as such leaders of old and new alike have always taken a leaf from this old time wisdom and penned down their visions to advance the wishes of the masses they lead.

Last Thursday, Mr Carter Morupisi laid bare President Masisi’s vision so that public officers may run with it.

Moshupa Senior Secondary School multi-purpose hall presented a perfect setting. Like the biblical narrative of the children of Israel who had to wait at the foot of Mount Senai while their spiritual leader, Moses, had gone to the summit of the same to receive the law from God, Moshupa Senior School multi-purpose hall was already swarming with public officers by 2pm, anxiously waiting for the delivery.

Delivering the message, Mr Morupisi said it was President Masisi’s wish that where possible, all red tapes in policies and regulations that stalled or impeded service delivery should be done away with.

He said also it was the President’s wish to see decentralisation of decision making processes by the district leadership to hasten service delivery as opposed to waiting for Gaborone to issue out orders.

“His Excellency President Masisi’s wish is to create a nation of winners laden with skills and competencies that will have other nations envy us.  It is his believe that the feat could be achieved if we instill the principle of Botho in our children at home and teach them the importance of self reliance at school,” he said.

Also, Mr Morupisi stated that President Masisi, a vanguard for family values would like to see where possible married couples under government employ, stay together.

He also mentioned that creation of a thriving business environment was among the top priority list for the President; something he said was incumbent upon public officers to achieve.

Thriving business environment, he stated would have a positive snow balling effect and help create much needed jobs for Batswana who would in turn improve their livelihoods.

“Help grow private sector, especially empower and encourage local businesses the best you can,” he said warning district leadership to steer clear from procurement process at all times.  Procurement officers, he said should be given space to do their jobs without fear or favour.

Commenting, majority of the public officers said President Masisi’s road map was refreshing.

They, however, decried shortage of accommodation and water within the district; something Mr Morupisi assured them government was aware of and was doing something to alleviate. ENDS
