Dr Dow pays a courtesy call on china VP

Minister of International Affairs and Cooperation Dr Unity Dow is expected to pay a courtesy call on Chinese vice president, Mr Wang Qishian.
Dr Dow is in China on a working visit at the invitation of her former counterpart, Mr Wang Yi, who is the Chinese State Councillor and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
A press release from the ministry says the two ministers will exchange views on bilateral, regional and international issues of common interests.
They will also explore new ways and means of deepening and expanding bilateral cooperation.
The release also says while in China, Dr Dow will also meet the China International Development Cooperation Agency vice chairperson, Mr Zhou Liujun, to discuss international development cooperation opportunities.
It further says Dr Dow will also visit the China Academy of Space Technology with a view to explore potential partnerships in the field of Science and Technology.
Botswana and China enjoy strong bonds of friendship, characterised by exchanges at all levels that have, over the years, contributed to mutually beneficial relations between the two governments and peoples.
Meanwhile, Minister Dow, who left for China yesterday, accompanied by senior government officials, is expected back on Sunday. ENDS
