A teacher at Nyangabgwe Primary School in Francistown was found hanging from the rafters of his rented house in Tati Siding on July 3.
Gerald Estates station commander, Superintendent Edward Leposo confirmed in an interview that the 38 year-old teacher used an electric cord to take his life.
He explained that the names of the deceased, who hailed from Monarch in Francistown were still withheld until the next of kin was informed. Superintendent Leposo said the body of the deceased was lying at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital awaiting post mortem adding that the deceased did not leave any message as to why he took his life.
Still in Tati Siding, a 39-year-old man of Marapong in the Central District, was also found hanging in a Mophane tree in a decomposed state some 15 kilometres outside the village on June 30. Superintendent Leposo explained that the matter was reported to the police the same day in the afternoon and the police rushed to the scene to investigate the matter.
He said the deceased, who was buried the following day because of the state of his body, did not leave any message as to why he took his life. Superintendent Leposo said he had registered two cases of suicide in his area of jurisdiction since the beginning of this year and advised people to always seek counseling assistance from either the police or social workers whenever they have problems .
