Centre promotes education for all

03 Jul 2018

Orapa Training centre remains committed to assisting the government in attaining quality education as well as supporting future leaders in realising their aspiration.

This follows the centre’s donation of stationery and toiletries worth more than P5 000 to Xhumo Primary School recently.

Drawing from the theme of the recently celebrated Day of the African Child, senior training officer at the centre, Mr Kgololo Mbenge said the donation was a reaffirmation of their commitment ensuring that no child was left behind in the attainment of quality education.

She said the theme: Leave no child behind for African’s development compelled them to give back to the school adding that children were the most vulnerable when it came to conflicts and crisis in the community.

She, therefore, noted that it was everyone’s responsibility to strive to protect and promote the rights of every child irrespective of their ethnicity, gender, religion and living environments.

In appreciation of the gesture, Xhumo Primary School head Mr Moses America said the centre had always supported the school especially on issues concerning pupils’ academic performance.

He expressed hope that the relationship the centre had established with the school would go a long way.

Kgosi Leokame Lekgoko thanked the centre for showing concern when it came to education noting that every time when Orapa training centre was mentioned only good deeds were to be expected.

When giving a word of encouragement an apprentice student at Orapa training Centre, Busani Mankgatau encouraged students to take their studies seriously saying education was the only key to opening opportunities.

He encouraged them to be confident and know that they could be whatever they wanted to be provided they exceled academically. Ends
