Masisi showers Tsogwane with accolades

President Mokgweetsi Masisi has described his number two as a reputable leader who had remained loyal and dedicated to the party since he became a MP.

He said this during a party organised by Boteti Business Community for Vice President Slumber Tsogwane at Makumuto Lodge in Boteti West over the weekend.

President Masisi said Mr Tsogwane was proficient in all government and political policies.      

Above all, the president said, Mr Tsogwane was a patriot who defended government and his party, BDP, at all times.

Mr Tsogwane’s qualities such as good personality, diligence, reliability and efficiency earned him the vice presidency, President Masisi said.

He said he had always identified him as a person who could provide him with advice and guidance.

President Masisi said he was even more encouraged to learn from Mr Tsogwane as they were both from the teaching field.

Vice President Tsogwane implored the entrepreneurs to be competitive advising that due to the small size of the Botswana market, they should be export oriented.

He all local products, including Botswana beef, were destined for the international market.

On another issue, Mr Tsogwane stressed the importance of take care of government property.

He said while citizens demand development they must be equally responsible and accountable.

Another speaker at the occasion, Mr Tshekatsheko Setlhomo of the Boteti Business Community, said the objective of the event was to celebrate steadfast dedication and commitment of VP Tsogwane to social and economic development of the region.

He thanked President Masisi for appointing Mr Tsogwane saying through the appointment Boteti was recognised and appreciated.

The aim, he said, was also to advocate for Boteti region to be supported and promoted to be economically productive and sustainable post diamond mining.

Mr Setlhomo said they wanted to advocate for infrastructural development, diversification of Boteti economy to reduce reliance on diamond mining and citizen economic empowerment. ENDS
