25 Jun 2018

Batswana have been urged to appreciate the different developments government has undertaken, though minimal.

Speaking at Mokobaxane, Kedia and Lebunyane cattlepost, Vice President Slumber Tsogwane said government had the best interest of Batswana at heart.

Donating blankets to the elderly in the areaon June 24, the Vice President assured residents that government would therefore continue undertaking projects to improve the standard of living.

Government, Mr Tsogwane said, would continue to review policies to enhance service provision citing issues of elephants roaming the Boteti area, provision of ear tags, time of operation of liquor outlets and time frames for festivals among others.

He said it was critical for government to consult and solicit ideas from the public on methods that could be employed to address the issue of elephants terrorising the community.

VP Tsogwane noted that it was essential for Batswana to operate businesses within guidelines of operation that were not stiff.

In addition, he said the Department of Civil and National Registration had been capacitated to expedite processing of identity cards.

He implored all to ensure that they had current identity cards to enable them to vote in the 2019 general elections.

Mr Tsogwane urged residents to revive and inculcate the spirit of working in unity to uplift each other’s lives.

He gave examples such as coming together to thatch a hut for a community member or supporting each other in farming activities. ENDS
