20 Jun 2018

Ngwaketse Land Board health and wellness committee has donated toiletries and winter gloves to Segwagwa Primary School pupils.

Handing over the donation, Mmathethe deputy land board secretary, Ms Segomotso Matsoga said the donation was aimed at uplifting the lives of the less privileged pupils.

The board has adopted the school.

Ms Matsoga said the committee was adding value to the lives of all the communities they operated within.

She said they provided winter gloves since some young pupils refused to attend school during winter season.

She also said the donation would help improve the school’s academic results, which were poor.

When welcoming the committee, school head Ms Keataretse Sewagodimo said she was concerned about  her school’s poor results, indicating that some parents neglected their children.

She said some pupils came late to school, more especially during the winter season.

Ms Sewagodimo thanked the committee for the good relationship, encouraging them to always assist the school.

Giving a vote of thanks, the headman of Segwagwa expressed gratitude to the land board committee for the good gesture.

He expressed concern about shortage of  classrooms and lack of administration block, saying some children were taught under the trees. Ends
