LEA staff donates food hampers toiletries to orphans
13 Jun 2018
Local Enterprise Authority (LEA) Kanye branch staff on Tuesday donated food and toiletries to Kgodisong Centre.
Handing over the donation, branch manager, Ms Martha Keikanetswe said the objective of LEA staff’s gesture was to help those in need and positively impact the communities where they lived and worked.
She said it was also a team building exercise as employees contributed their money to purchase the items.
Ms Keikanetswe stated that it was Kgodisong staff’s plea for help regarding shortage of food at the centre which led them to donate.
Moruti Dr Cheryl Dibeela from James Good in Kanye said the UCCSA’s Motswedi branch started Kgodisong Centre in 2005 to assist orphans and vulnerable children, adding that it had 37 orphans aged between two and three years.
Dr Dibeela said they transported children from their homes to the centre and served them lunch.
Giving a vote of thanks, the councillor for Nyorosi East, Mr Kagisanyo Tau commended LEA staff for the donation, saying it would assist the centre.
He requested LEA staff to adopt the centre while imploring other churches to assist vulnerable and disadvantaged children. Ends
