Comp-Selekt manager, Mr Tlhwaafalang Tebogo, also known as Dj Twaza, will sponsor the coming prize giving ceremony for Lerala Junior Secondary School.
This was revealed during a launch event which was held recently in Lerala to introduce Dj Twaza as a prize giving sponsor to the community, parents and teachers of Lerala JSS.
Currently the school is challenged with a decline in academic results and has failed to score above 50 per cent pass rate in the last examinations.
The school has a high number of indiscipline cases, learners failing to retain their grades, drop-out due to teenage pregnancy, desertion, irregular school attendance and general absenteeism.
In an interview, Dj Twaza, 25, of Majwaneng stated that a decision was taken after the prize giving committee approached him in need of a sponsorship in the school’s endeavor to encourage excellence.
DJ Twaza, who is also a gospel artiste said as a way to promote an educated and informed nation he partnered with the school to sponsor their prize giving ceremony for five years with certificates designed by his company.
Also, he said he will also offer his sound and performance services for free in a period of five years during prize giving ceremonies and he has also pledged P5 000 for the event this year.
He also said he had engaged and interacted with other potential sponsors like Food Lovers and other companies and have expressed interest to join hands with him to help the school to succeed.
He indicated since children were the future leaders, there is need to fight challenges faced by the school.
For her part, prize giving chairperson, Ms Winnie Tebogo appealed to all alumnis of Lerala JSS to team up and come forth with plans that can help the school succeed. ENDS
