Dilapidated clinic worries residents
07 Jun 2018
Matshelagabedi residents have called for regular maintenance of the village clinic.
Speaking at a kgotla meeting recently, a resident ,Ms Basetsana Nthebolang said the facility had not been maintained for many years and consequently put their health at risk.
Ms Nthebolang said it was important to make the dilapidated clinic a hospitable place where patients would feel better and safe.
Again, she argued that the place was also not good for patients particularly during harsh weather conditions.
“We see the cleaners doing their job tirelessly during rainy days but all that is in vain because it does not help the situation as they will be trying to improve as it remains the same, we are pleading for renovation of the clinic,” she said.
Another resident, Ms Winnie Showa argued that the clinic should be a healthy environment and thus challenged health authorities to urgently attend to the their concerns.
Another resident, Mr Mooketsi Sekgopi, said renovation of the clinic was long due, adding the situation was worse in that it culminated into delays in attending to patients. On other issues, residents have pleaded for better roads in their village, arguing that the village had grown and thus needed in-roads that are in good condition.
Mr Esau Tlale argued that the dusty roads were not good for their health as well as their health. Ends
