Tshimoyapula access road project to commence soon

A tender of approximately P397 million has been allocated to UNIK Construction Engineering for the construction of the Tshimoyapula access road, residents have been told.
Serowe North MP Kgotla Autlwetse said although actual construction had not yet begun, significant progresses had been made with the contractor having started mobilisation.
“I urge you to take advantage of the opportunity and make sure that you avail yourselves once the contractor decides to hire,” he said.
The MP said he had asked the contractor to engage youth companies adding that they should understand that every Motswana was entitled to benefit from the project.
Mr Autlwetse, also Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development said the scope of work comprised a fresh road of approximately 62km between Mabeleapudi and
Serule and about 6km access road to Tshimoyapula and Serule. He the road would help ease traffic congestion on the A1 Road make life easier for farmers wishing to ferry their livestock and other products.
Residents requested the legislator to consider tabling a motion in Parliament to reduce distance between boreholes from a radius of 6km to at least 4km.
They said due to shortage of land, it was now becoming impossible to drill a borehole as most had reached the stipulated distance.
Residents also advised that farmers offered seeds and fertilizers through ISPAAD be monitored.
They said it was about time farmers were monitored so that seeds went to those who needed them the most.
Resident pleaded with the legislator to consider drilling a borehole for farmers experiencing shortage of drinking water for livestock .ENDS
