Residents to consider development model proposal from MP

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ghanzi North, Mr Noah Salakae has proposed to channel part of constituency development fund to his brainchild, Shishana community development trust.
Mr Salakae laid his proposal before his constituents during a series of Kgotla meetings he held recently. His wish is to channel P500 000 from P10 million constituency funds to Shishana community development trust, the trust which aims to help the street children, if his constituents accedes to his proposal.
He said he had already consulted the council secretaries who advised him that his wish could only be endorsed by his constituents.
He assured the residents that the trust would present a business plan on how to spend the funds and will from time to time produce audited reports .
On other issues, Mr Salakae briefed his constituents about bills passed by the last sitting of Parliament.
Concerning the company registration Act, he said one amendment proposed the online business registration to eliminate the issue of traveling inconveniences and added that if the President could give the amendments a green light, the existing business would have to be re-registered online too.
Residents welcome the online registration of business saying traveling long distance for registration of companies or business would be the thing of the past.
Former community leader of Ghanzi,Kgosi Silence Setima bemoaned shortage of drugs and medicines at Ghanzi Primary Hospital saying the prevailing situation was worrisome. ENDS
