The grand finale for Miss Tsabong Show beauty pageant is scheduled for August 2, Tsabong agricultural show committee vice-chairperson, James Sampson has said.

James said the pageant had attracted many beautiful young women in the Kgalagadi South region.

He stated that the pageant would be divided into two phases, saying the first phase, being the audition phase will see all the beauties who registered for the pageant battling it out for a spot in the finals. He explained that the auditions would be on July 29 where 12 finalists would be selected to compete in the second phase of the pageant, being the grand finale.

James, who is optimistic that the Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Fund sponsored pageant would be a crowd-puller, also stated that there were exciting prizes at stake for the fairest ladies.

He explained that the beauty pageant, which was part of Tsabong agricultural show was introduced in order to empower young ladies in the region as well as prepare them to compete in national and international pageants. However, James decried lack of transport to bring the contestants together for practice as one of the challenges his committee was facing.

He further stated that the committee did not have facilities from which the contestants could hone their moves. Consequently, James appealed to sponsors to come forward and sponsor the event, saying they planned to make it bigger next year.

Former Miss Botswana Karabo Sampson is expected to help the aspirants in their preparations for the event. ENDS
