Montshiwa condemns poor service delivery

30 May 2018

Kgosi Kebapatile Montshiwa has condemned the poor service delivery residents receive from government employees in Kgalagadi North.

He made the remarks during his welcome address during a community service day held in Lehututu organised by the boffice of the District Commissioner recently.

Kgosi Montshiwa said poor service delivery has led community members to lose confidence in public servants.

He said poor service delivery frustrated government’s effort to uplift the lives of citizens through various government programmes accessible through employees in question.

However, Kgosi Montshiwa took comfort in the fact that the Livestock Management and Infrastructure Development (LIMID), under the Ministry of Agricultural Development and Food Security was the only programme with active officers.

Assistant district commissioner for Hukuntsi Sub-district, Ms Segomotso Nkwane encouraged public officers to serve the community with diligence and respect, bearing in mind that they were the face of government at district level.

She implored them to conform to set service standards at all times in their quest to render quality service to customers.

Furthermore, Ms Nkwane informed residents that they had the right to appeal to higher authority in the event they felt their concerns had not been addressed.

That, she stated, had to be done by following right the channels of communication.

On other issues, Ms Nkwane urged residents to take government programmes such as Ipelegeng seriously. She said residents should also be productive. ENDS
