Nata community hall progressing well

28 May 2018

Construction of the P890 000 community hall project in Nata is progressing well.

The project, which is at 70 per cent completion stage, was funded through the Constituency Funds. It started in February this year and is expected to be completed in June.

Ntoloki Investment project manager, Mr Ntoloki Oarabile said in an interview that the project had challenges such as the redesigning of the stage plan and changes to the required roofing materials which delayed the project.

He, however, was confident that they would complete the project on schedule.

He said the changes were made during inspections with village leaders, and that they suggested two doors at the stage entrance, one for toilets and another one for entrance and exit by artists from the changing room.

Another challenge, he said, was shortage of bricklayers as he needed more human resource.

Mr Oarabile said the community hall would be used to host various activities and give residents opportunities to improve their livelihoods.

The project, he noted, employed nine locals, including a female accountant.

Ntoloki Investment site foreman, Mr Thero Ndolo said the community hall would accommodate around 250 people.

He said the project was at roofing level and were still waiting for roofing pallets. He said the community hall would give the catering business an opportunity to sell their food during staged events hence help small business people to make returns. ENDS
