Pakistan doctors help Tsetsebye

The Pakistani Association of Botswana, composed of medical doctors and other health practitioners, on May 19, visited Tsetsebye to diagnose and screen patients of diseases at Tsetsebye Clinic.
The association, in collaboration with the Member of Parliament for Bobonong, Mr Shaw Kgathi brought two medical practitioners, Dr Abid Shaik and Dr Hasan Chu and a pharmacist, Mr Arshad Khan.
The chairperson of the association, Mr Ishtial Ur Rehman Raja and Messrs Sohail Shamsi and Irfan Asghar also attended the event.
Speaking at the event, Mr Kgathi said the screening and the medication from the association was offered free of charge to residents of Tsetsebye.
He said the cordial relationship between him and the association helped facilitate the event, and said as the area MP he had to run around to ensure that residents got assistance.
Mr Kgathi, who is also Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, said he brought the health experts to them because such services were being enjoyed by residents in Bobonong, where they hosted the Health First Foundation.
Similar services, he said, would be hosted in other villages across the constituency, and pleaded with residents to receive the little assistance offered by the association.
Mr Kgathi commended the District Health Management Team (DHMT) and the civil service in Bobirwa for being supportive and working had to ensure that services reached people timely.
The councillor for the area, Mr Lame Motsamai also commended Mr Kgathi for arranging the event, and urged patients not to default on taking medications prescribed by doctors.
Giving the purpose of the day, Bobirwa Sub-district senior assistant council secretary, Ms Gomolemo Moepeng said the Pakistan Association of Botswana’s main aim was to bring services which were not available closer to people.
Ms Moepeng said the DHMT offered services such as diabetic screening, HIV testing and counselling, cervical cancer, dental screening, PMYCT and Safe Male Circumcision.
Kgosi Kgosidialwa Motsamai also commended the association for rendering health services to the people as well as Mr Kgathi for organising the event, saying many would get assistance they had been waiting for months at government hospitals. ENDS
