Police investigate double murder hit and run cases

Police in Mogoditshane are investigating a suspected murder incident in which two children were found dead in Tsolamosese ward in the early hours of Friday March 30. 

A press release from Botswana Police Service deputy public relations officer, senior superintendent Near Bagali states that the deceased, a five-year-old boy and a one-year-old-girl were found dead at an open space with throat wounds.

The release further notes that a 31-year-old Zimbabwean woman believed to be their mother was also found at the scene with a wound on her neck and was taken to the hospital where she is admitted while bodies of the two children are at the mortuary awaiting postmortem. Police investigations are continuing.  

Meanwhile police in Maun are investigating an incident in which a 22 year-old man of Matshane ward in Maun died after he was stabbed with a sharp instrument by unknown assailants on his way from entertainment in the early hours of March 31.

The deceased was rushed to thevhospital where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.

Police are appealing to the public to assist with information that could lead to the arrest of suspect(s).

In another incident, Broadhurst Police in Gaborone are investigating a case in which a Motswana man of Bokaa was found dead near Oodi College of Applied Science and Arts.

The deceased is suspected to have died after he was hit by an unidentified motor vehicle on March 31, 2018.

No one has been arrested and the police are appealing for information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect(s).
