A 40-year-old Zimbabwean woman, Evelyn Chivinge was deported from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates to Botswana on March 1.

A press release from Botswana Police Service states that the suspect who has been on the police most wanted list since October 2017, was an employee of CA Sales and Distribution (Pty) Ltd where she defrauded the company money amounting to over P2 million which came into her possession by virtue of her employment.

The release says the National Central Bureau (NCB), Gaborone published her name in the Interpol Red Notice as a wanted suspect following her disappearance in which she was arrested in Abu Dhabi and subsequently deported to Botswana.

It further states that Chivinge who arrived recently at Sir Seretse Khama International Airport under escort appeared for mention at Village Magistrate Court on March 2 on charges of stealing by servant.

The suspect has since been remanded in prison and will appear on March 16 while police investigations are ongoing. ENDS
