Gaborone Village Magistrate Court has further remanded Kgomotso Rebonamang as police investigations are relatively new.
Appearing for the second time before magistrate Ike Raphel on February 28, the prosecutor, Inspector Galekhuti Mashumba of Sir Seretse Khama Police Station (SSKA) said police have started instigations, and that relatives of the deceased were fuming and he applied that the accused be further remanded.
During her first appearance two weeks ago, magistrate Raphel expressed shock and dismay at the level at which youngsters were involved in heinous crimes especially murder in Mmopane.
The 20-year-old Rebonamang allegedly stabbed to death her cousin, Thandi Matlhatsa on February 13, 2018 after the two had a misunderstanding after a drinking spree.
Like in the previous arraignment, Inspector Mashumba’s request for further remand was granted, noting that the offending tool together with other exhibits had been sent to the forensic laboratory for testing.
Asked whether she had anything to say, Kgomotso said there was nothing.
She will come for another mention on March 14, 2018.
