Clement Mosomodi-Thebe, popularly known as Dj Phazz has released his second album titled Sunga with the main objective to enhance cultural behaviour and advocate for youth behavioural change.

In an interview, DJ Phazz revealed that he decided to release the house album because he wanted the youth to relate with the message he was conveying as most young people were fond of the genre.

The album was recorded at Forward Slash and House University House Creation studios in South Africa and Botswana and was released last month.

He has worked with different artistes from Botswana, Nigeria and South Africa such as Ballo-T (Nigeria), Eckza (SA), Alfredo Mos, HT-Tautona, Lucia and Zolasko, among others.

Dj Phazz explained that the 12-track house album consists of songs in different languages such as Setswana, Shona, and Xhosa to cater for people in different areas as well as to spread the message to people who cannot speak or hear Setswana.

The album consists of songs belonging to different types of house music such as commercial house, soulful house and deep house, proving the versatility, innovative and creative genius that is Dj Phazz.

He uses prominent kick drum on his beats with up-tempo music for dancing and fans will certainly appreciate it.

Dj Phazz mentioned that all his 12 songs have a powerful message with some songs such as Another Love and Mama Africa celebrating the importance of love.

“I am advocating for different ethnic groups, people, different families and married couples to love each other so that peace prevails not just in their homes, but also in the nation at large,” he said.

The title track Sunga, Dj Phazz added, means ‘what is bonded on earth is also bonded on heaven’.

The Shoshong-born artiste has been in the music industry since 1999 and released his first album titled Good Lane Express in 2010.

He explained that the album did not do well since he did not promote and market it as much as he should have.
