A 44 year old woman was arraigned before Jwaneng Magistrate Court recently charged with four counts of obtaining by false pretences.
A press release from DCEC states that investigations by Directorate revealed that the accused person Gloria Khupe between October 24 and 26, 2016 in Jwaneng, with the intent to defraud, obtained P15 000 from Golden Bridge Enterprises (PTY) Ltd.
“She falsely represented to Golden Bridge Enterprises that Sebueng Ditsele, Bonako Ramooki, Lesom Mmonatau and Pailane Matshenyego applied for a loan, when in fact the accused person knew at all material times that the aforementioned people never applied for loan as it was the accused who
applied for the loan using their personal details without their consent, ” it states.
The accused instructed them to withdraw the money and hand it in full to her and she proceeded to use the money as her own.
It says a plea was reserved and the accused will appear again in court for mention on March 29. Ms Belinda Oaitse of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions appeared for the state, while the accused person was unrepresented. ENDS
