Kachikau police are investigating a case in which a 58-year-old man of the same village was found buried in a shallow grave on a farm in Matompolo lands.

In an interview with Superintendent Situme Budani,  he said the deceased who stayed alone at the farm was found by his nephew on February 21.

He said a 42-year-old man, who is the younger brother to the deceased, was helping the police in their investigations.

In another matter, Superintendent Budani said a 45-year-old man of Satau was confirmed dead at the hospital after his body was retrieved from Lake Leambezi on February 22.

He explained that the deceased, who was mentally impaired, was reported missing on February 20 after he went missing on February 19, and that his body was found by a search team composed of the police, Botswana Defence Force and the community.

Superintendent Budani said it was suspected that the deceased was trying to cross to Namibia. He said although no foul play was suspected, investigations on the matter were ongoing.ENDS
