Sister Khumo to revive music career

Khumo Pinaenang, popularly known as Sister Khumo, the country’s leading female rhumba kwasa-kwasa diva, is pulling all string together to bring her career to top notch after a short break.
Sister Khumo released her fourth album titled, Kenalesengwe, which she has worked with her backing artistes Star Band.
Khumo has worked with a well-known record label company, Octave Records, who composed the masterpiece under the watchful eye of Kunda Bwanga who produced and mastered the album.
The album was released on December 17.
“It is high time I take my music to another level. The market does not have a lot of rhumba kwasa-kwasa female artistes and I see a niche to be exploited there,” she said.
She revealed that her six -track album combined both laid back and hyper tracks and she is confident she would surely achieve her dreams. She noted that more shows and projects were expected from the band as they hope to scoop awards and break new grounds in 2018.
Sister Khumo pointed out that all her six songs had a powerful message behind.
Some songs like Botswana, which was the album’s lead track celebrateed and praised the country’s former presidents for their visionary leadership.
Sister Khumo created hashtags Kenalesengwe and thexhumbalady for fans to share videos and photos as they enjoy the album.
The album is distributed to music stores and radio stations around the country.
She further explained that she was not only working more on music but also branding Sister Khumo Investments to be the company of choice for entertainment services.
“Our team has already started knocking on different doors, looking for collaborations, synergies and any other opportunities of working with various stakeholders and artistes, as we seek to grow as the brand,” she said.
Sister Khumo’s music career took off in 2004 as a gospel singer and joined the popular Unity band in 2005 and continued to work with the following artistes: Vee, Franco and Afro Musica, Wizzards and the late Biza Mupulu.
She has previously released three albums titled, A re bine Batswana, O boile and Zebras. Ends
