Police investigate five over murder at Makgabana Bar

Five suspects are in police custody to help police with investigations on the murder incident that occurred at Makgabana bar in Mahalapye’s Thomadithotse ward over the weekend.
Palapye Police Station commander, Superintendent Waboraro Ramaja said in an interview that the investigations are still at a preliminary stage, adding that the police are still awaiting post mortem results.
Superintendent Ramaja said the deceased, a 47-year-old man, who hails from Palapye, was alleged to have been stabbed with a sharp object on Friday night at Makgabana bar after having a misunderstanding with his friends.
The five suspects are aged between 16 and 27 years while the deceased’s names are still withheld.
Superintendent Ramaja raised a concern over involvement of minors in criminal activities, adding that minors should choose friends carefully and also focus on their school work.
He said it is worrisome that teenagers are involved in serious criminal activities.
He urged parents to instill a sense of discipline in their children and mould them into responsible citizens who will help develop this country. ENDS
