17 Jan 2018

Two herdmen accused of murdering Mochudi East Member of Parliament (MP), Mr Isaac Davids were on January 16 arraigned before Molepolole Senior Magistrate, Ms Lindiwe Makgoro.

The two, a Zimbabwean national Jabulani Dube, 32, and Mokgalemi Malea of Go-Moeng ward in Ramotswa, 34, are each facing a single count of murder.

They are alleged to have murdered the Mochudi East legislator by stabbing him with a sharp instrument on Sunday.

According to Letlhakeng police station commander Superintendent Daniel Katse, the death of 67-year-old Davids occurred at Sorilatholo following a misunderstanding with two of his herdmen.

The incident is alleged to have taken  place at Sorilatholo Settlement at a liquor outlet where the deceased had followed the two men.

The two were not required to plead after a charge sheet was read to them on the basis that police investigations were still at an early stage.

Meanwhile, Supt Katse pleaded with court to have the two accused remanded in custody to allow police to carry further investigations. Ends
