Event to facilitate network

The Meat Extravaganza that is billed for March 31 at the Hideout Farm in Tlokweng, is expected to give attendees an opportunity to sample different meat dishes  and also facilitate a convenient space for networking.


Speaking at the press conference of January 12, head of marketing for SAMKET Group, Lebopo Bulayani said the main objective of the extravaganza was to promote a unique product within the tourism industry, which was slowly gaining tract in Botswana.


The event, which will be held under the tagline ‘Meat meets class’ will bring different stakeholders to deliberate on the future of events in the country within the entertainment industry.


 Bulayani highlighted that they planned to advertise the event to places as far as Kasane and Maun. She said the event would provide camping for people who would be travelling from outside Gaborone.


“Our target attendance is over 3 000 people and we hope to get more sponsors to join the bandwagon and partner with us to produce the biggest meat festival. We will provide tight security for the attendants, their belongings and at the camping site,” Bulayani added.


In its effort to help promote tourism, she said the event will offer a package that will include transport to and from the venue and a tour of Gaborone. She said they will engage with tourism management students in different tertiary institutions to give them a feel of what the industry is about.


Tickets for the event will be P150 for individuals, P250 for double, P80 for kids while VIP tickets will be sold at P500.


Corporate stalls will be available at P5 000, which will come with two VIP tickets while small and medium enterprises’ stalls will be available at P1 500.


SAMKET Group is a wholly citizen-owned company in the meat industry distributing different types of meats to different parts of Southern Africa.


Through events such as the Meat Extravaganza, SAMKET Group is in the process of building iconic window through, which the Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Events industry could flourish and the regional community could experience cultural exchanges both formally and informally. ENDS
