Tonota Police investigate assaultmurder cases

Tonota Police station commander, Superintendent Kenanao Badumetse said they are investigating an assault, murder and three car accidents cases, which happened over the festive holidays.
In an interview, Superintendent Badumetse said the police were investigating a case in which, a 25-year-old man of Serota ward in Tonota was stabbed by a sharp object after an argument with a suspect about the use of fire crackers.
He explained that a suspect stabbed a victim in the neck and fled the scene.
He said a victim was receiving medical attention at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital while they were currently in search of the suspect.
Superintendent Badumetse further said they were investigating a case in which, a 24-year-old man was found dead in a pool of blood in their family home.
He said a suspect had been deatined and investigations were on-going.
He further confirmed that there were three fatal car accidents in Tonota.
In the first accident, he said a Ford Ranger vehicle from Ditladi lost control and hit two children aged between five to nine years.
He explained that victims were receiving medical attention at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital.
In addition, he said two men aged 40 were hit by a Hilux vehicle crossing A1 road in Tonota before Christmas holidays.
He explained that one of the victims did not survive the crash and the other was also receiving medical attention at Nyangagbwe Referral Hospital.
In another accident, he said a Nissan Navarra with three passengers lost control and killed two passengers in Gulushabe ward. ENDS
